Pianist Sam Grobe-Heintz has been living, performing and teaching in the S.F. bay area for the past ten years. He appears in S.F. clubs weekly with a wide variety of bay area musicians, including acclaimed saxophonist Andrew Speight, drummer Vince Lateano, and bassist Michael Zisman. Over the past couple of years he has performed with a diverse group of musicians, including the Alexander String Quartet, singer Jamie Davis, and saxophonist Pete Yellin. Sam has been a teacher at the Stanford Jazz Workshop for the past two years, and also teaches piano at various schools in the bay area. He holds a B.A. in music from San Francisco State University. Sam can be heard in a trio format on Tuesday nights at Savanna Jazz in San Francisco. He also plays Sunday afternoons at the Dogpatch Saloon and most Monday evenings at Shanghai 1930 in San Francisco. Sam currently lives in Hayward with his lovely wife and baby daughter.
